Very good

The doctor I spoke to was extremely friendly, reassuring and I felt like I could talk to her about all of my worries and problems without being judged or dismissed.

Good

Receptionist I felt initially her answers to my questions were from surgery triage script
I felt I needed to question the answers she gave. Insisted she read my file
As I was concerned about the swelling in my face as I had quince many years ago, ending up very ill , 2 weeks in ITU Leicester
royal. 4 months off sick.
Eventually I persuaded the receptionist that I needed to speak to the doctor for my peace of mind.
It was hard work.

I appreciate it must a very difficult and challenging job the staff have on the front desk.
Dealing with all kinds of I’ll people
The elderly
Mums
Sick kids running around
And they are us men who try not to go the doctors and sooner bury their heads
It will be alright.
Sometimes I think we need a bit more compassion/ empathy
We are all guilty of that
For me I’m embarrassed that I have to go to the doctors.
But when I do go it for a good reason.
Try not interrogate
Maybe listen
Most people just want advice
Doctor to say it will he okay. Point them in right direction.
That’s your job.

Poor

I’m usually really happy with the service, you’ve always been so accommodating and helpful. However I felt at this appoint which was for my daughters immunisations that the nurse held my daughters leg too forcefully. I understand the risk of needle stick injury as a nurse myself, but felt the grip was excessive and I would have preferred to restrain her myself. For all other vaccinations for my other children I have been given the option to hold limbs in place, however this time I had my hand brushed out of the way, and wasn’t given the option. The nurse even commented that she was strong.

It was a shame, as mentioned you’ve previously been fantastic, particularly with my eldest childs 3 year vaccinations, which was a really hard appointment.

Two days after the appointment I became unwell with nausea and vomiting which I suspect was picked up from the gp surgery as I hadn’t been anywhere else due to my daughter feeling grotty post vaccinations.
